The biggest thing I regret doing is not going to college for teaching like I wanted to after high school and 9 years ago we had the opportunity to go back. The truth is when I decided to go back to school 9 years ago I shared my plans with someone who was a teacher themselves and let her talk me out of my dream. She told me that there were no jobs available and that I would have a hard time finding a job when I completed my degree. So I switched my plans to do medical billing and coding. I got an associate degree in business administration. I wish I hadn’t let her talk me out of it. I gave up before I even got started because of someone else’s negative thoughts.
Now I know to never give up on my own dreams or share them with people not in the same mind set as me. Here are
- It will come when you least expect it. Sometimes it takes longer to get where you want to be but don’t give up.
- You won’t be wondering what could have been.
- You will have no regrets.
- You will get to celebrate when you achieve your dream.
- You make yourself feel great.
I am writing this to say basically don’t let anyone no matter who they are talk you out of your dream. Everyone may not understand why you are pursuing whatever your dream is. It is not for them to understand. It is only for you to understand why you need to pursue whatever it is you are pursuing. Sometimes you will find it is best to keep your dreams to yourself. Remember it is okay not to share your dreams with everyone. It really isn’t necessary.
But you should never give up. If your dream doesn’t come in the time that you expect it to it’s okay. It just means that it isn’t time for you to achieve it and you get to focus on other things. Which will probably lead to where you want to actually end up.
