I want to introduce you all to a new weekly post that I have come up with. I am calling it Self Love Mondays. This is a posts where in the spirit of positivity that I will find something to pat myself on the back for or recognize something good in myself. Just basically to acknowledge me. Sometimes we are so good at beating up ourselves that we forget to recognize the good in ourselves. It so easy to pick out the negative. I want to find some good things about me. So lets get this started. I really want to acknowledge my patience and good temper. This week my patience has been truly tested at work. As you can imagine working with kids is a really stressful environment but hey you make it through. At times you will find that the kids are not even the problem. It is the parents. I had some things pop up where it required me to call on myself to remain calm and remember that ish happens sometimes even if those situations could be avoided. Lets just say I had a very late night at work one day this week.
Now sometimes I am hard on myself because most times I think that my good temper allows me to be run over by people but it really does come in handy sometimes. Not losing it at the drop of a hat can be very hard. However it is not always necessary. I am still learning to speak up but at times it really isn’t required.
I can say that I really could have handled the situation differently but I wasn’t in a position to where I could. I had to remain calm for myself and the kids in my care. I am just so proud that I made it through.
