One thing that I love is movies. Some of my favorite movies are historical movies where I learn something about my country’s history or about black history. Since it is February & February is Black History Month I thought that I would share some of my favorite movies that I learned Black History from. I sometimes force Tyler and Nishe’ to sit down and watch these movies with me when they come on TV. I want them to learn their history. Usually when we first sit down to watch they are complaining and rolling their eyes. Then by the end of the movie we are actually having conversations and talking about what they have learned.
So here is my list of must see movies:
- Boy King:
- Four Little Girls:
- The Tuskegee Airmen:
- Malcolm X:
- The Loving Story:
- Glory:
- The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman:
- Ghost of Mississippi:
- Murder In Mississippi:
- The Rosa Parks Story:
- Disney’s Ruby Bridges:
- The Long Walk Home:
- Mr & Mrs. Loving:
- The Great Debaters:
- Selma, Lord, Selma:
