La La Land Mommy: 3 Reasons Why I Like Tracking My Kids Grades Online
Ever since Nishe’ and Tyler have entered school I try my best to stay on top of their grades and keep track of subjects that they may need help in. I want to be as involved in their education as I can be. That is basically my job. The Husband works. I take care of the home and the kids. I am the go between that keeps him as involved as he can be. I let him know what is going on with the children. I help to keep them on the right track and make sure they are getting the education that they need and deserve. So I try to do that to the best of my ability.
When Nishe’ entered school I decided that I was going to make sure she did her best and that the ball would never be dropped. I didn’t want there to be any surprises as far as missing assignments or anything. So everyday I would check her book bag and had her write down assignments. I am the same way with Tyler as well. I also made it my business to also check in with their teachers every few weeks. However I hated not finding out what was going on until weeks later. But unfortunately some things would still slip through the cracks While my kids are great kids they still would forget an assignment here or there. That is why I was glad when the technology that allowed parents to see their kids grades online came about. I was really on top of their grades then. I wasn’t checking it every few weeks. I could see what was going on with my kids whenever I liked. Only thing was the teachers didn’t always put the grades in when I checked so I got lazy. But now I’m thrilled that this year their school system is using a new website to track students grades and this website comes with an app. It’s called Infinite Campus. This app sends me notifications whenever the teachers input grades and it also lets me know when my kids are marked absence. Here are 3 more reasons why I love this app:
1. I can see if my kids need help in a subject.
2. I can make sure they are turning in their assignments.
3. I am well informed and am better able to communicate with their teachers and the Husband. This is my favorite thing about it.
I think this is just great. I no longer have to wonder what is going with my kids. No more surprises. I feel a hundred times better. Does your child’s school have a system like this? Do you like it?
I’m not sure if our school system has this feature or not, I’ll have to ask my kids if they check my grand babies grades online. It think it is a GREAT idea and I wish they had this option when my kids were small.
