This year I am taking a different approach to my goals for 2018. I am realizing that sometimes you have to do things a little different to get to where you want to be. Every year I set these big goals. For example I want a car. I know I want this car. However I have no plans set to work my way to getting this car. That just isn’t working for me. I have to figure out how I am going to get there.
So what I’ve decided to do is to set small goals to get to my big ones. Cause sometimes you have to take a long way around to get to your ultimate goal. So I have set my big goals and have planned out how I will get there. I think this will help me to see my plan in a different light. Let’s go back to my whole car scenario. To get that to the goal, I need to figure things out. For example, how will I get the money to get the said car? That said, the costs do not end at just buying the car. There might be added costs for those who are not seasoned drivers like me as they would also have to bear the expenses of opting for driving lessons at Alpha Driving School (they are known to provide driving lessons Hebburn) and similar institutions. Though I might be exempted from that, the car purchase alone tells me I need to work on my income and save money. Then I can break that down into other things. Now, this may not work for everyone. But I am hoping to work for me. Here is why I think that breaking your goals into smaller goals will work:
- You will feel less overwhelmed. Knowing that I want this car can be a bit overwhelming and not knowing how to get it can be unnerving.
- It will help you to figure out a plan. Once you figure out what you want breaking down exactly what it is you need to get it can give you a clear plan to focus on.
- You won’t feel like such a failure. If you don’t get what it is you are aiming for this year you can feel better knowing that you still have time to get there. It will just take you a little longer.
I feel that this will help me make my goals more achievable. Plus it lets me see where I’m trying to be. I think they will be more obtainable. I am not sure if it will work but I am hoping it will. Trying to find ways to be more focused.
How are you staying focused on your goals in the new year?
