This post is sponsored by Consulting.com. All opinions expressed are my own.Another one of my goals for 2019 is to be more consistent and productive. I am a person who can very easily get off task with the smallest of distractions like social media. It can really get annoying. Especially when there are things I know that I need to do. Most of things have to be done before I go to work. Being pressed for time means I really need to stay on task. Cause if I don’t it means I get nothing done.
I don’t know why it is so hard for me to stay on task. I do know I have struggled with it since I was a child. I get bored easily and am easily distracted.I would often get in trouble for it. But now there isn’t anyone to make me focus so I have to do it myself. As an adult the easiest way for me to get distracted is for me to think of something else that I could be doing or start my day off by doing the wrong thing. For example if I get caught up in a game of gardenscape I can almost guarantee once I fall down that rabbit hole it will be a long time before I come out. If I get on Facebook and see one interesting video I am basically screwed. It can be 9 in the morning the next time I look up after watching video after video it’s time for me to get dressed and get ready for work. Then I am rushing to get everything done or putting things off until tomorrow when I could have put off the other things I was doing until tomorrow. So in order to be more productive I have come up with some things that have currently been helping me to get things done. Here is what I am doing. Hopefully it will help you as well.
- Schedule: I set a schedule for myself. I got a planner and I plan out everything I need to do for the day. I use it as a check list to check off everything that I need to do. I also use the calendar on my phone to remind me to stay on task as well.
- Timer: I have started to get myself a time limit for each task that I am doing. Once the timer goes off I move on to the next task. I sometimes like to linger on things. But most things take me longer cause I find other things to do instead of focusing on what I am suppose to be doing
- Breaks: I take breaks. I give myself a break time. This way I am able to take time to do other things that I want to do like check out social media or play games on my phone.
These three things have been keeping me on track. For more ways to stay on track you can head to Consulting.com.

I can honestly say I do intend to be more productive during my eight hours on the job. However I Am always distracted by little things. Those little things never seem to get me back on the original goal. When I’m sitting around the house of course you can find little things to do cleanup this, pick up that, but the original goal is to Sit down and have a nice time and you never end up doing that.

See for me at work it’s easier to stay on task. But at home it’s harder I guess because it’s my own things. It’s really something I have to work on. I appreciate your comment.
