If there is one thing that I can’t stand as a blogger is when I have writer’s block. Some days I just don’t know what to write. I honestly sometimes my writer’s block comes from getting into my own head. I struggle with sharing topics that I think my readers will find interesting. I sometimes find myself boring. Then it becomes even harder to get over it. Basically I’m just hard on myself. The longest a writers’ block has lasted for me was about a month. At that point and time I felt that I hadn’t done anything that I considered to be worthy of sharing on my blog. I would write but it would be topics that I wasn’t really happy about but I wrote because I felt that I needed to write something. I’m sure my reader could tell that I wasn’t putting my best foot forward. But since that time I have come up with ways to get my thoughts flowing again.
1. I will do writing prompts from various sites like Blogher. In fact this is one of them. I’m taking part in a NaBloPoMo writing challenge. I want to make sure I write a post every day.
2. I write out everything that is on my mind. Cause my thoughts are clouded because I am worried about something or have a lot on my mind.
3. I step away from my compute. If I can’t find a writing prompt that I am interested in and I just can’t figure anything out to share I call it a day and try it again later.
4. I do something that I find relaxing. Maybe go for a walk, take a bath, or read. Sometimes taking a minute to relax can help clear your mind so you are able to write.
These are my 4 top ways of dealing with writer’s block. What do you do to overcome writer’s block?
