It is snowing yet again here. Many people despise snow days for the inconvenience it can cause such as having to find daycare for young children at the last minute or having to miss out on a day at work. Some individuals may even detest the fact that they need to clean all of the snow from their roofs and walkways, which could take hours of time.
There might also be the added pressure of making sure that the roofs are in good condition to keep the snow out of the homes. If there are any problems with the roof, residents may need to contact a roofer in their area for assistance. And once this is done, they may also have to keep an eye on things every now and then so that there aren’t any more issues. The freezing temperatures don’t help either and it can be hard for people to get warm, which I understand. Some families may find that they need a furnace replacement during the cold season which, granted, is not ideal (especially if the heating has to be turned off fully in order for it to be replaced), but at least things can get back to normal and the home will be cozy again once the replacement is installed.
Apart from that, many of my friends have also opted for heating systems such as underfloor heating systems because of the advantages they have over traditional furnaces. Also, they believe that underfloor heating is usually quite efficient because it can effectively convert the entire floor into a radiator. And because of the large surface area, it does not need to be a high temperature to warm the room – only a couple of degrees warmer than normal room temperature can suffice. This is one of the reasons why so many people tend to incline towards installing the underfloor heating system over traditional heating systems by hiring experts from companies like Heavenly Heat Inc. Well! I might also give it a shot someday.
However, for many, these heating systems could be an extra expense that they have consider, especially if they are already paying over the odds for their heating and are afraid to have it on continuously. However, they are probably unaware that underfloor heating systems are quite energy-efficient. Also, there are now discount energy tariffs including cheap heating oil delivery (Click here) if that is your preferred method, but snow days can still be a nightmare to deal with. I, on the other hand, have found some reasons to like it. Yes I would rather my kids be in school getting an education and my husband making money to keep a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, and the bills paid but hey there is also a bright side.
1. I love that I know that my husband and kids are home safe. If they were in school or at work I would be worried sick about them. Thank goodness they made it home when there was a storm and many were stranded a few weeks ago. My heart and prayers went out to the families that were separated and stranded.
2. I get to spend more time with my family. Any time I get to spend with them I see as a blessing.
3. I enjoy the snow. Snow is such a rarity in Georgia that I enjoy the beauty of it when it falls. The family and I walked to the store and just had the best time crunching through the snow, throwing snowballs at each other and just having a great time.
4. More time to cuddle. With it being cold outside you have to keep warm and what’s the best way to stay warm? Body heat! So with snow days I get to cuddle with my loved ones.
5. I get to sleep in. Love not having to get up early.
All in all though the best thing is being able to have more free time with my family.
