This weekend I had a chance to hang out with a good blogger friend of mine. We hadn’t hung out in a while. I was looking forward to hanging out in person because we mainly just chat on the phone. We rarely get together. So I really enjoy when we can hangout. The funny thing is we were planning to go to another restaurant when she was reminded about an upcoming event at a restaurant called Nouveau.
Nouveau Bar & Grill is a restaurant located in East Point, Georgia. It has been open since November. We and some other bloggers had the opportunity to taste some of the items on the menu. I was super excited because I of course love food. We will get to the food but let’s first talk about the atmosphere inside Nouveau. It is absolutely gorgeous inside! It is so warm and inviting in there. You kind of feel like you are visiting the home of a family member. I loved the decor inside. There were gorgeous pieces of art and this beautiful chandelier that I absolutely love. You could just sit and relax forever inside. Which did for about two hours. We all just sat and talked amongst ourselves.
Now let’s get to the food. I really enjoyed the food at Nouveau Bar & Grill. They served us a number of dishes. I enjoyed each and everyone. The first thing we were served was a caesar salad. It was so good. It had tomato, bleu cheese, cucumber, bits of bacon, grilled romaine, and eggs in it. It was so delicious! The whole combination was just perfect.
The second course was a plate with samples of a sticky rib with slaw, Devil egg , and fried chicken & sweet potato waffle. I honestly couldn’t choose a favorite from this plate. If I had to I would choose the fried chicken & sweet potato waffle. It was so surprisingly good and different. It was a really good surprise. Mainly because I have never had a sweet potato waffle before. But it was so good. I would definitely eat again.
The third course was shrimp & grits. Oh my gosh! It was so good! I have had shrimp & grits before but I think this is the best version of it that I have had so far. There was a sauce on the grits that really just made it pop. The only suggestion I have is that they should have other options for those who are allergic or don’t choose to eat shrimp. My friend was allergic and some others didn’t eat it. They gave them a veggie version but it would be great if they had the choice of another meat. Other than that it was really delicious!
The last course was bread pudding. I love the bread pudding. It was really delicious. The bread pudding had nuts & raisins in it. Everything tasted do good together. I could sit and eat it all day. I wanted another serving.
We also had a chance to try some wines and their signature drink. I am not a wine drinker or an alcohol drinker at all really. I tried a sip of two of the wines. The wines came from an African American owned wine maker. I was out and decided to have a little fun. But a sip was enough for me. My favorite was their chardonnay. Their signature drink is called the Holy Water. The drink was really good. It had a good mix of sweet and tart mixed together. They have both a alcoholic and nonalcoholic version of this drink. I would definitely get this drink again.
My overall experience at Nouveau Bar & Grill was really great. I enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere. I was glad to able to hang out with my friend and had so much fun just enjoying food. The food was really filling. I want to go back and experience a full meal. I don’t think I will be disappointed. You can find Nouveau Bar & Grill at 3775 Main St. College Park, Ga 30337.
