The Husband and I have been bike riding for over a year now. It’s usually just us. Sometimes we can get the kids to ride with us but mostly it’s just the two of us. We have always wanted to try to ride with a group of people who enjoy riding bikes as well. So I decided to go to Facebook and see if I could find any bike riding groups. I came across one that I felt was our speed. Cause you know some people take bike riding extra serious. I’ve seen them on the road. Those people ride like their lives depend on it. We aren’t that serious as of yet.
Two weeks ago we were finally able to get an opportunity to ride with the group. We did an early morning ride one day and then a late morning ride another. I really liked this group they were very inclusive of us. They made sure we all stayed together. I actually learned a few things while on the ride. Cause bike riding and communicating during a bike ride is like a totally different language. Like they would say all clear when they passed a lane before the others in the group to let us know the lane was clear. They would inform us when to move because of course they know the roads a little better than us. They often educate us about various locations situated across the country for biking. For example, we recently came to know about Crystal Cove State Park in California, which has 18 miles of hiking, biking trails, camping sites, and much more (if interested, check out https://beachcoast.com/crystal-cove-state-park/). Sounds like an interesting place we could check out in the future!
However, since we were biking in Atlanta, we usually try to stay close to home and then go to Old Fourth Ward for a change of scenery on occasion. One biker even knew how long we had for a light change. On the first day we did a commuter train from Atlanta to Buckhead. The next day we did a 10 mile ride around the Atlanta area. It was really fun riding with like minded people. It was a great experience.
I hope to ride with this group again. It was really nice. I also enjoyed meeting new people. Seeing Atlanta on a bike is pretty amazing. I think it is great connecting with like minded people. Plus I learned some ways to stay safer on the roads while riding my bike.

Pleased you enjoyed it, I’ve never done a cycling trip. Since I only cycle occasionally when I do it I cannot sit for a couple of days ? Never tried the padded cycling shorts, that might help.
