Hello everyone. I’m back with another great book for you. This book is not for little ones. I think it is a wonderful book to read. If you read this book I would love to hear what you think of it.
Imagine going to bed in your body one night and then waking up in the 19th century in the body of another woman the next morning. That’s what hap pens to Elaine Metcliffe in the book Awaken My Love by Robin Schone. Oh and did I mention this other woman is also married to a man who seems to all but despise her. On top of that she has to deal with this cruel house servant. The 19th century is very different from her boring 20th century life. Charles Mortimer the English baron who she is married to is definitely different from her own 20th century husband Matthew. Elaine is a woman who wants. Answers to why this man hated the woman whose body she was in and how the heck did she come to be in the body. Then she had to choose whether she wanted to stay in the 19th century or return to her passionless marriage in the 20th century.
I have to tell you at first I didn’t think I was going to like this book. But after talking to my mom who read this book before me I stuck with it. This book had me so angry at times but it also made me laugh. I definitely sorry for the woman whose body Elaine took over. She has a very surprising past. This book will take you through all sorts of emotions. Sometimes I couldn’t stand Charles but when I found out why he was reacting the way he was I gave him some sympathy but not much. But I can’t say that I blame too much. How everything came to be was very surprising. Lets just say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.
