I received tickets to attend this show. All opinions are my own.
This past Tuesday my brother and I headed to the Fox Theatre to see Cinderella on Broadway. I always love seeing shows at the Fox Theatre. They are always worth the trip. I have always wanted to see Cinderella on Broadway. I have heard great things about this show. When I received an invite to see the show I immediately accepted. I decided to invite my big brother to attend the show with me. He is such a good sport.
I expected a great show but I must say it more than exceeded my expectations. It was not the Cinderella story that you are used to. Cinderella was far from weak. In the original story although I love it she seems not as strong but in this play she was much stronger. She actually had an ally in one of her stepsisters. In the original story Cinderella has no one she was all alone. I thought that the music was great. I found that I recognized some of the music from another Cinderella I had seen before that starred Whitney Houston and Brandy Norwood. I was glad that I was able to sing along. I found myself laughing all the way through. One thing other members f the audience and I couldn’t figure out was how the actress who played Cinderella Kaitlyn Davidson changed into her gowns without leaving the stage. Like we were literally sitting there watching the whole show and we couldn’t figure it out. She looked gorgeous! Kaitlyn Davidson and Andy Jones were fantastic as Cinderella and Prince Topher. My other favorites were the stepsisters Kimberly Faure who played Gabrielle and Aymee Garcia who played Charlotte. I also liked David Andino who played Jean-Michel. They all did a great job bringing the story to life. I love how the play was different from the story that we read countless time. I thought it was great how Cinderella had some spunk to her so it didn’t take her long to figure out who she was despite how her life was. In the original story Cinderella was strong but she made the most of her situation just like this Cinderella. I enjoyed everything about this play. I like how Prince Topher took control of his kingdom once he saw what was going on. The singing and dancing is simply amazing and definitely very entertaining. If I could go see it over and over again I would.
Cinderella will be playing at the fox from now until November 8th. It is definitely worth seeing. I would go see it while you have the chance. It is great for young girls and boys as well.
