I recently was given an opportunity to try Chobani Greek Yogurt as an ingredient for cooking. I received my coupon in the mail and headed to my local Kroger a few days later to pick it up. I have been trying it with different recipes for a few weeks now. Now I am ready to share my results. Before I begin sharing my review of Chobani Greek Yogurt and my experience with cooking with it let me first say I can cook but I am definitely no chef. I cook well enough for my family and I to sustain life. I might have to try making some myself, my friend was telling me about the best rated yogurt maker and I thought I might give it a try. I digress. But rarely do I attempt to go outside my little comfortable box and cook something that requires more than my level of skills. But since I’ve started blogging I’m slowly dipping my toe into a world beyond my norm. I’m delighted that I finally decided to blog my greatest passion in life. It has allowed me to explore so many wonderful food cultures and allowed me to try so many new ingredients. I encourage anyone with a similar passion to do the same. Simply, visit makeawebsitehub.com for guidance on web hosting platforms like A2 Hosting and get going! Anyway, the pics you see are some of my wins and fails. I won’t necessarily be sharing recipes but rather just what I cooked. All these attempts are pretty much self explanatory because they are so simple. There was one I really failed at and started not to share because it is one of those pics that you shouldn’t share anywhere unless it is perfected but hey why hide it. Even the best chef and cooks fail sometime. Anyway here goes nothing.
The first meal I attempted to cook with the Chobani Greek Yogurt was the pizza. The fail for this attempt was that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. We added a layer of Chobani Greek Yogurt before adding a layer of barbecue sauce, cheese, and chicken. It was a big hit with my kids. It actually tasted really good. I am sad I don’t have a pic to share with you though. I think we will do this one again sooner or later.
Okay so my next attempt at using the Chobani Greek Yogurt in cooking was in my turkey patties and scrambled eggs. I actually tried this before and it was a major fail so this is actually my second attempt. The only thing I did was mix it in with them before I cooked. Instead of putting eggs in my patties this time I just used the yogurt. It was actually pretty good. It gave the patties and the eggs a little tangy taste. Tyler and Nishe said that they really enjoyed it. I asked them like a million times cause I didn’t want them only saying it to be nice. But they promised me that they weren’t.
Okay now we are getting to my disappointments. I am really embarrassed by one. Sometimes you have to laugh at yourself. Right?
Here is the second fail:
Okay if I’m honest this isn’t really a fail. I placed some Chobani Greek Yogurt inside fajita to see what it would taste like. The fail on this one was I forgot to take the picture before I closed it. So to me this doesn’t look exactly appetizing. It was a really great mixture of spicy and a little sweetness. I used in place of sour cream. It was actually pretty good.
Now it is time for my major fail. I decided to try something totally different. I wanted to actually step out of my comfort zone. So I looked up a recipe to make cheese sauce out of Greek yogurt. I read the recipe and it looked simple enough. So simple that I didn’t think I needed to look at it again. Major mistake. If I had I would’ve known that leaving the yogurt on the stove too long would cause it to curdle. I did this not once but twice although not as bad the second time. In fact the photo I’m about to share is the second attempt. This is one of those don’t post to instagram, facebook, or twitter cause it looks disgusting. But although it looks a mess it actually tasted okay. I will be trying this one again though. No recipe will conquer me.
I am so ashamed. Ha ha ha! But I enjoyed cooking with Chobani Greek Yogurt and will gladly do it again. It will definitely be used next time I make this cheese sauce.

I love this post! Great cooks are made when they experiment in the kitchen, which is exactly what you did! 😉 I have never tried Chobani’s Greek Yogurt before. I will get some next time I’m at Publix.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with. It was fun to do. Trying is the fun part.

I’ve been seeing a lot about this lately. The only time I’ve ever tried it was at a free sample tasting. They served it plain and it was not for me. But, these ideas of cooking with it intrigue me. I remember the taste from the sampling and now that I think of it, it would probably add a great flavor to some foods. I think I’ll try your suggestion of the pizza — my boys love pizza. But, I get tired of the same old thing. Could you share more info on the recipe?

It is a really easy recipe. I just put a layer of greek yogurt on first. Then I added a layer of barbecue sauce. Then cheese. After that I used TYson’s grilled and ready chicken cut it up and put it on the pizza. Then another layer of cheese. I put it in the oven until the cheese melted.

Sometimes I also try different recipes that I think so easy to cook and there are times it turns out to be a mjor fail too. What’s important is that we try and try again until we finally cook it better. 🙂

Yes I was happy that I tried it. Disappointed that it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to.

Maybe I’m weird, but I’ve never tasted greek yogurt. I’d probably use it on a fajita as a replacement for sour cream.

Nope not weird at all. This was my first time trying Greek yogurt. If it wasn’t for this campaign i don’t think I would’ve even thought about trying it.
