Tonight The Husband and I went to American Axes for date night. We would up here because I was looking for things to do on Groupon. I’m trying to get better at making plans for us. So when I came across this great deal where we could get one hour of play for $36 I immediately wanted to do it. Mainly because it was something we had never done before. I told The Husband about it and he said let’s do it.
American Axes is a place where you throw axes at a target. Sort of like darts but not really. Our reservation was for five o’clock. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and taken to wait for our turn. We were a little early. Once the people before us were finished they immediately sanitized the area before we came up. We were given a very detailed tutorial on how to throw the axes and the rules. Of course the first rule was no throwing the axes at anyone. Then we were able to start throwing. It was so much fun. I landed quite a few and so did The Husband. To be honest he got way more landed than I did. The instructors stuck around and came over to help us whenever we asked and even when we didn’t. I really appreciated their help. One instructor even showed us how to throw underhanded. I never did figure that one out but it was fun trying. They also told us that there were different games we could play like 21 but we opted to just throw the axes. I did add up scores when I was playing alone for a outlet while. I think I did pretty good. I took ten turns. The first time I did it I got a score of 9 and the second time I got a score of 20 so I improved. It was a really fun outing.
American Axes is located in Marietta, Georgia. If you’re looking for something different to go with your significant other or friends. This is definitely a great place to go. You will have an amazing time. It’s also a good place to go to blow off steam if you’re having a tough day. I believe I would actually go back. If for no reason but to get that underhanded throw figured out.
