Don’t Forget Your Daycare Providers This Teacher Appreciation Week

As we all know Teacher Appreciation week is this week. Teachers are special people. They give their all to make sure that our little people get the education that they need. I must admit my kids have had some great teachers over the years. Those great ones I can remember by name. I can remember some of my own favorite teachers as well. Teachers definitely deserve to be appreciated. They do so much for their students. I know most of them use their own money to not only decorate their room but also to make sure they have extra supplies for the students who either don’t have them or lose their stuff. They do so much and receive so little appreciation.While I appreciate the teachers I also ask that you not forget the other people in your children’s life. Those people like me who take care of your children after the many hours that they spend at school. I am that afterschool teacher who helps the children with their homework, I go and pick them up from school, and when school is out we take care of them. Sometimes we even give them the extra help that they need in the areas where they are struggling. As the school days come to a close remember more than likely your babies will be spending most of if not all their summer with their daycare providers or their afterschool teachers.

Daycare and afterschool program teachers work really hard to ensure that children are safe and well taken care of. Most daycare providers treat children as if they are their own, and all they ask is that parents do a little research and read an article on what to bring to your first day when you drop off your child. I love the bond I have created with the children I work with. I have learned so much about them. I have found sometimes we are the connection between parents and kids. I have shared some things with parents that they would never guessed their kids felt. I just want to remind people to appreciate the others in your children’s lives as well. Remember it takes a village and we are apart of your village as well. Remember we are in this school year with you and beyond.

I truly believe teachers deserve appreciation. I think everyone who works with children does as well. We aren’t looking for gifts just maybe a thank you would help as well.
