I received this product for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
One of the things I hate the most of my housecleaning chores beside laundry is cleaning out the drain. I gag at the clumps of hair that I sometimes pull out. It comes from washing our hair while in the shower of course and combing hair over the bathroom sink. I mean sometimes things can get crazy. I am always looking for things to make my life easier. Especially if it would prevent me from having to pull strands of hair out of my drain.
A few weeks ago I was approached about reviewing the Drain Wig. The Drain Wig is a device that is made for the sole purpose of catching hair. This made me so happy. I was ready to try it. I knew I had to try it. There are actually two different Drain Wigs one for the bathtub and one for the sink. I decided to give the one for the tub a try. Unfortunately the stoppers for our sinks do not come out. It is really easy to use. You remove your stopper if you have one. Lower the chain into your drain and leave it there like I did in the picture below:
Forgive my tub. It’s old. I left it in for a total of two weeks. When the two weeks ended I removed it from my drain. I was pleasantly surprised. It caught a good amount of hair. Some were left behind and I still had to clean the drain but it wasn’t a long process and there was a lot less hair. I wish it had caught more but the packaging said not to let the amount of hair get too big. One of my friends told me how she got a little too busy to clean the drain for a few weeks. It seems like the drain got blocked resulting in leakages. Plumbers would have been an ideal choice of experts for that situation, but she decided to do it herself. Since then, I have been a little careful about such things. Using a drain wig didn’t eliminate me cleaning the drain completely but it did make doing it not so bad. It is recommended to change out the drain wig every 2-4 months. :
