On Thursday while doing my school pick up at work I happened to hear that there was a new Slutty Vegan opening in Duluth. I had tried the location in Atlanta about a year ago and loved the food. I was thrilled to find out that one was opening a little closer to me. I was even more thrilled to find out the grand opening on Saturday. I knew that I wanted to be there when it opened.
Saturday morning after a walk with The Husband and Tyler we headed over to the location. Slutty Vegan is always busy so we wanted to get in line early. The location was opening at 1 but we were in line at 10:30am. By 11:30 the line was wrapped around the corner and into another business parking lot. It was also raining. Thank goodness we remembered to bring our umbrellas because it was raining off and on the whole time. Pinky the owner of Slutty Vegan was also helping 40 new businesses with their start up costs which makes me like her and her brand even more. I unfortunately don’t have a business but I appreciate how she likes to help others. One lady even lined up at 3am because of this opportunity.
There were so many people there to support Slutty Vegan. Trust me it was worth the drive. Everything was so organized, I enjoyed seeing Pinky. Her staff is so great and full of energy. They kept all of our spirits up despite the rain. They stopped and talked to us as well. I saw one staff member actually stop and have a conversation with a little girl. The food was just as yummy as I remember it. I got a Fussy Hussy meal. It was so good. I was so glad to be able to enjoy this meal. I didn’t miss meat at all when I bit into this sandwich. It was worth every dollar. I was even able to take a picture with Pinky herself. I think I will be going to this location more often. You can find the Duluth Location at 2045 Pleasant Hill Rd.
