La La Land Mommy: Family Fun At Fernandina Beach

This weekend was so much fun. The Husband, the kids, and I headed to Woodbine Georgia for some family fun. We went down with my niece and her kids. We rented a house. The house was really nice. What I loved most about the house was that we had so much privacy. We had our pick of going to two beaches Jekyll Island and Fernandina Beach. Both were about 30 minutes from where we were. If it’s one thing that my family loves it’s going to the beach. This was our first time actually going in the summer time.

We left Friday morning to take the four hour drive. It was a great ride especially when we got near the water. We love to drive past the water. We drove past rivers and oceans. I always enjoy that part of the trip. We arrived at the house took a minute to rest and then headed out. We attempted to go to the beach that day but wound up touring Fernandina rather than going to the beach thanks to me putting in the wrong address on the GPS. We ate at a barbecue place called Willie Jewell’s.

We headed to the beach early the next day. We chose to go to Fernandina Beach. The kids were so excited. They practically ran out to the water as soon as we got there. Then they just practically stayed out there all day. I enjoyed the water as well. Especially as it can get the sand off of you, it can get everywhere! Next time we’ll have to check out something like evolve towels which can give you that sand-free beach fun, so the car doesn’t look like its own beach. Later my niece and her family joined us. We enjoyed a nice lunch on the beach, played in the sand, and just played in the ocean. It turned out to be a great day. I think this was so far the highlight of my summer.
