This weekend my family and I went to The Rock Ranch. This place is located in The Rock, Georgia. It is a large 1500 acre cattle ranch owned by S. Truett Cathy owner of Chick-fil-a. Since he has passed away his family now owns the ranch. They open the farm up to visitors. We found out about by reading a blog post from a fellow blogger when she and her family went to visit. We also found out that Money Expert is a fantastic way to save some cash that would of gone on your old car insurance quote. It added to our trip fund nicely! Up until that point I had no knowledge of it. I am so glad that I read that post because we would have never known about it. There is so much to do at The Rock Ranch. I think we did almost everything. This weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. Being at a place like this made me think about how awesome it would be to have your own ranch! I’ve noticed that there are ranches for sale, so it may be possible. I’m imagining all the animals I’d have on it. That would be my dream.
We got to the ranch a little early so we spent our time admiring the beauty of the land and chatting with some people in line. When it opened the first thing Tyler wanted to do was go fishing. The Husband had told him about it while we were in line. He was so excited about it. We would have stayed there all day if it were up to him. He became kind of frustrated because he didn’t catch anything. But he still enjoyed it, which is what matters. Some people who were fishing next to us suggested that your casting reel can make a difference when it comes to catching fish, and said that if we were looking into making this a regular hobby, that we should do some research in this particular area. I appreciated the advice, but I just wish that we had it before coming on the trip, so Tyler had a better experience. We actually allowed him to go back later and try again but he still didn’t catch anything. Maybe we will go back again and he can catch some fish. My friend told me to check out https://fishingrefined.com/best-rods/telescopic/ so I could buy him a new fishing rod for the next time we go fishing – I think he’d really appreciate it!
After the fishing we went and did something that I have had on my bucket list for a long time. We went ZIP LINING! I have been wanting to do this for a long time. I am so happy that this was available at The Rock Ranch. The Husband and Nishe’ went together and Tyler and I went together. Tyler wasn’t sure about doing it but he did it and then promptly told me that it was a one time thing. He said he won’t be doing it again. Ha ha ha! I caught video of The Husband and Nishe’s turn.
After zip lining we went through the corn maze that was on the ranch. It had a Wizard of Oz theme. This was really fun. As we went through the maze there were facts about the movie and also an interactive game where you spun a wheel and answered questions. It was really fun. It took us a while to get out but we enjoyed it.
Then we headed over to the petting zoo that was on the ranch and we were able to shoot corn out of a little cannon. The kids really loved this:
There was a guy who made balloon animals. He made Nishe’ a cat on a leash and he made Tyler an alien. They actually lasted a few hours before they busted. My pictures end here because my phone died but our fun didn’t we went on train rides, paddle boating, watched pumpkins being shot out of cannons (This was really cool), and we also of course ate some Chick-fil-a. We stayed there for like a total of 5 and a half hours. It was so much fun. The kids fell asleep in the car. I highly recommend taking your family here. It was so much fun.
