Time for a whole new week it’s Monday! Happy Self Love Monday! I can’t wait to see the week holds. Every week I look forward to accomplishing something so that I can share it with you all. It gives me some motivation. You all help me to keep going. I am challenging myself to do more than I normally would. It is definitely freeing. One of my accomplishments this week is I didn’t let excuses hold me back. I am the excuse queen so I can find a reason not to do anything. Especially if it’s out of my comfort zone. Last week the weather was not kind to us at all. It was absolutely freezing. In fact, it was a bit windy this morning. I will say that I did let excuses get me at least one day. I decided that because it was cold it was a good excuse to skip my morning walk/run.
With the cold weather knocking at my door, it was so tempting to stay in my bed and not do anything and enjoy the heart-melting warmth of my propane-fueled furnace. I just kept snuggling in my bed more and more relishing the decision to get a propane tank installed (those on the lookout for getting a propane tank installed in their homes could contact firms like Kelly Propane and Fuel who are known to provide commercial propane solutions). Honestly, I opted for that because I did not want to run out of the warmth that I am currently enjoying. But it can be heartbreaking to go from a warm bed to a cold room first thing in the morning when your boiler has decided to break down, nothing worse than that.
Luckily, there are companies like Epic Electric, Heating & Cooling, as well as similar others, at hand to get it sorted, it’s a shame they can’t help you get out of bed too. But after my first off day, I decided to fight what came to me naturally. So rather give myself another excuse not to get out and do my walk/run I decided to do it in the house. I walked my stairs and ran from one room to another. I did for about three days. So one day I skipped completely. The next day I attempted to walk/run. I did about thirty minutes when I usually do almost an hour. Then I went in the house and did a workout video. I am just glad that I didn’t give in to being lazy. So I am patting myself on the back for not giving in to the excuses.
What did you accomplish this week? I want to hear your accomplishments so please feel free to share.
Vera Sweeney says
I try not to make excuses. It gives you an “out”. If we all stayed within our comfort zone, we’d never accomplish much. Good for you on your challenge! I wish you luck and success!
Kgilbert says
I agree. Sometimes it only takes one little excuse to make us give up on our plans.
Jeanette says
I think it is it is always good to reevaluate yourself just to make sure that you are standing up for what you want in your life. I accomplished a couple of things this week one of which is learning a lot more about SEO, which has been on my list for years to try.
Kgilbert says
I find SEO so confusing but I definitely need to learn it. I think it’s great that you learned more about it.
Ashley says
I try hard to not make excuses for myself, but it can be difficult. I accomplished getting a ton of work done in very little time yesterday so that made me happy.
Kgilbert says
That is amazing! I think it’s great that you got some work done.
GiGi Eats says
Every day is self-love day because I truly do love myself and I always make sure to take time to appreciate every little quirky about myself on the daily – and I think everyone should try and do the same! 🙂
Kgilbert says
Yes! This is a great mindset. I am learning to do that more. Pat myself on the back for the things that I get done throughout the week.
Heather says
Well I helped my husband accomplish sleep and I volunteered at my kids’ school. So far that’s it. I hope to accomplish cleaning up our garage and basement this week. They are disorganized messes.
Kgilbert says
That is great! Those are definitely accomplishments.
Sarah Bailey says
I love that you share something you have achieved each week and well done on giving up your excuses! Be amazing to see what happens having done that.

Yeah I fell back on doing these posts but I am trying to pick them up again. They really motivate me to get something done.
Jennifer Van Huss says
Excuses are always the downfall to achieving something great. It is great that you were able to over come your excuses and complete your workout!! I find that I need to have schedule and keep to it!
Kgilbert says
I really need a schedule. I am the worse with getting things done. Especially in a timely fashion.
Rachel Ferrucci says
I have arguments with myself when I try to give an excuse. They’re so easy to do but I try not to. Love that you pushed through. My accomplishment so far this week is that I finished my Easter shopping, I’m usually last minute Lucy so this is a first!
Kgilbert says
I am a last minute person to. I am glad you got your shopping done.
Paula schuck says
No excuses. Just do it. You got this. I know I was feel so much better when I work out regularly. It’s vital for me
Kgilbert says
Thank you I so appreciate your comment. Trying my best to stay motivated.

I look forward to Mondays. It is a fresh start. I am looking forward to catching up on reading and blog work. I have a lot to do.
Kgilbert says
Yes Mondays are great. I don’t know why people dread them.
Melissa Dixon says
I am guilt of giving myself an excuse for certain things but I do think that sometimes we need to let ourselves off the hook although if it is a constant thing where you don’t push yourself at all, that can be a problem.
Kgilbert says
Mine is a constant thing. I would make excuses for unnecessary things and then before I know it I haven’t gotten anything done.
Heather says
Love this! Those excuses can really hold us back. I’ve got a busy week with some really great blogging opportunities. Unfortuantely it’s also my kids’ spring break, so I’m trying to hustle and fit in all the fun too!
Kgilbert says
Sounds like you had a great plan. It’s good to get some things done.
Jenn @ EngineerMommy says
We will be out of town next week so I am trying to catch up and get ahead of the game this week. It’s already Wednesday and I have a lot more I need to finish ugh.
Kgilbert says
I hope you were able to get it done and enjoy your vacation.
Crystal Nicole says
I took care of my taxes for my business and am now giving myself a few days off, which is definitely an accomplishment for me. I always work and rarely, if ever, take time off, so this is much needed.
Kgilbert says
That is great! You have to take a moment and relax sometimes.
Heather says
This week, I allowed myself to unwind from our recent vacation. I tend to forget that sometimes it’s ok to relax and rest.
Kgilbert says
I do that too. I am so hard on myself when I realize I didn’t get anything done.
Lia World Traveler says
Good for you. It is so easy to throw in the towel before you even get started. Thanks for the motivation.
Kgilbert says
You are so welcome. I am trying my best to be motivated so I can get where I want to be.
Sheena Steward says
That’s a positive outlook to have. Most people dread Mondays but I like how you actually are open and welcoming to it.
Kgilbert says
Yes I love being motivated now. I figured it’s going to come so there is no use in dreading it.
K. Elizabeth says
It’s definitely easy to find excuses when it comes doing things that are outside of our comfort zones. This week I finally made an appointment for a checkup. I had been putting off finding a new doctor and getting a physical for a while. I’m glad I did and look forward to seeing if this doctor will be a good fit or not for me.

That is amazing! I just had my check up in September. That was something I was putting off as well. I still have a few check ups that I need to do. I am years behind.
Kita says
Keep pushing forward Katherine. This week I slept more than I usually do. Sleeping at night is usually a struggle for me so I am counting this as a win.
Kgilbert says
That is definitely a win. It’s hard to function with no sleep.
Nancy at Whispered Inspirations says
It is so good to have a positive outlook! Excuses are really just holding everyone back, and so many (including myself) can be guilty of it.
Kgilbert says
I think I am more guilty of it than most but I am trying to change it.
Kgilbert says
I find them so easy to make rather than to get what I need done. However if I have goals I want to accomplish I have to give them up.
Leslie says
Monday was my Mother’s birthday and we had a nice time together..it was not always like that so to me our growth in our relationship is an accomplishment.
Kgilbert says
That is amazing! I love that you two are growing closer.
Kgilbert says
I love the fact that you and your mom are getting closer.
Toiia L. Rukuni says

I need to adopt your mindset. It will probably definitely help me more.
Kgilbert says
I love your mindset. I think I need to give it a try.
Cherri Megasko says
I’m pretty good about letting excuses get in the way of my production as well – especially when it comes to exercise. “My knee hurts today. I’m catching a cold. I didn’t sleep well last night.” LOL
Kgilbert says
You sound just like me. I find anyway to get out of the things I am suppose to do. Especially for myself.
Kgilbert says
I am the excuses queen. I can make excuses where there is none to make. I am trying my best to give them up.
Jay Colby says
This is a such a inspiring post! It’s so important to stay positive in all situations.

I have found myself making excuses. It is a hard habit to break.

It’s been cold here in the Midwest and I’ve been wanting to exercise too. I have a few favorite YouTube workouts that I need to get back to.
Kgilbert says
Working out when it gets cold makes it harder for me to work out. I have been doing good so far.
Kiwi says
My accomplishments is the revamp of my media kits and all of my Disney post. I also got some good rest!
Kgilbert says
I still need to work on my media kit. I would love to get some more paying content.

I need to redo my media kit. Thanks for reminding me. I love reading your posts.

Kgilbert says
Yeah I am realizing that self care is a definite must.
Kgilbert says
I am definitely going to try my hardest to make myself a priority.
Sheena says
Yes! Less procrastination = faster rewards and accomplishments.
Kgilbert says
I am still working on not procrastinating.
