I have been meaning to post about our latest hiking trip for awhile now. But life has been a little hectic. A few weeks ago we visited Fort Mountain State Park. This park is located in north Georgia in Chatsworth, Georgia. It is a 2 hour drive from where we live. There is a $5 parking fee. Which isn’t too bad. Trust me with the views it is well worth it.
We hiked three trails. Big Rock Nature Trail, Gahuti Trails and Cool Springs Overlook, and West Overlook Trail. Big Rock Nature Trail and the West Overlook trail takes about an hour to hike. Gahuti Trails and Cool Springs Overlook takes 5 hours which explains why we only went part way. We drove the rest of the way once we realized how long it would take. The Big Rock Nature Trail leads to a beautiful small waterfall. The West Overlook Trail leads to a overlook and a tower. We were going to go to the tower but decided against once we reached the top. We were all tired. This place has some amazing views. It also has some great places to take pictures. It is so peaceful. That’s one of the reasons why I love hiking it’s so peaceful.
Like all our hiking adventures I thoroughly enjoyed this outing. It was really fun. I don’t think I will ever get enough of doing this.

Looks like you guys had fun. Hiking is not only great exercise but a great way to get the kids outdoors, and I like it because I can clear my mind during the hike. Love your pictures, btw

Thank you! I agree great exercise. Two years ago I was struggling to climb a mountain. Now I still struggle but it is getting easier and easier with every hike.

I am not much of an outdoorsy person but this looks like an experience I could enjoy. One of my friends just invited us to a hiking adventure for her birthday. Since we live in Florida is was more like a walking adventure.

I hope you enjoyed it. I looked hiking in Florida. Doesn’t seem like there is much there. However I bet there are beautiful places to walk.

I’m not a big hiker but last year, I was proud of myself because I did several hikes, one which ended with a waterfall and the other one, not a so good experience but I was proud of myself that I finished.
Kgilbert says
I wasn’t a big hiker at first either but I have grown to love and enjoy it. WHere did you go hiking at? I hope your not so good experience doesn’t stop you from doing more hikes.

I also enjoy hiking, I’ve never hiked for a really long time. I wish we had more trail options in our area. The view is always the money shot.
