So one day I’m at work and get a phone call that he is throwing away food in the fridge. I asked him why. He tells me he wants to go on a diet. I’m of course shocked because this guy weighs all of a buck five. I mean he looks great and super skinny. Now I can admit he has a bit of a bulge. So I’m not really what he wants to get rid of. So after I get home I realize he’s he’s thrown away bread muffins, Hawaiian sweet rolls. Some fruit cups and also basically anything he considered nonessential food. So of course I am fuming because I like Hawaiian sweet rolls, I wanted the bread. I like a good sandwich every now and then! It’s just so shocking because we had already cut soda, juice, candy processed-sugar out of our lives. To my surprise he did this on a whim because we had already started eating more healthy. We were eating fruits, vegetables, and drinking more water. He decided to go one step further. He planned on only eating salad for the next month and I’m looking at this do like he is crazy. There is no way I can follow in his footsteps because I am not eating just salad.
So I took some time to think, I came up with a plan of my own. So while he’s eating salad I have to find other things to eat and still maintain a healthy diet. To my surprise for a week straight he only ate salad for breakfast and had a sensible dinner of brown rice baked chicken and mixed vegetables. He even went a few nights without eating any dinner at all. Which of course I did not agree with. He started snacking on peanuts & almonds, pistachios no sugary snacks whatsoever. Because of his snack choice I chose sea salt coconut cashews and praline peanuts. I just couldn’t give up sugar that easily. However if it’s not in the house I’m fine. I still enjoy sweet tea and occasionally other sugary snacks but only in moderation.
He doesn’t like to call it a diet. So I will say lifestyle change. The lifestyle change has also made us look at meals differently. Before this he only ate three things chicken with rice, wraps, and sandwiches. But now he eats more variety. Recently he tried spinach, green/red peppers, and pinto beans. I backed off of but still enjoy occasionally pasta, rice, and other starchy foods. I mainly now enjoy a meat and vegetables. I have to say it has brought us closer together because now we cook more together. We also discuss what we want to eat and it turns into a fun date night. I have encouraged him as well. Sometimes I do get cravings to eat outside when I check out a new nearby cafe, or someone tells me about a fancy italian restaurant jacksonville fl they’ve recently been to, and I get an urge to go out with the husband for a nice dinner. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to eat out once in a while!
Me and my husband have been taking vitamins to boost our immune system, especially with the coronavirus going around. One of our friends also recommended that we try Vitamin Drip Cedar Park or elsewhere to help with the toxin build-up and everything else. Anyway, we may give it a shot sometime soon. We take vitamin C and echinacea and have recently made the addition of zinc as well. I also discovered medicinal mushrooms recently and am learning how they boost immunity. I think we can incorporate it too into our diet, but only after reading quality information on medicinal mushrooms through online resources or maybe after consulting our family doctor.
So let me get to the why I loathe my husband part LOL. It’s only been two weeks of eating salad in the morning a sensible dinner, walking, bike riding and he’s already dropped seven pounds. I on the other hand have only lost four pounds. He looks amazing! I’m starting to enjoy my look now too. He even paid me a compliment the other day so I know it’s working.

I can understand your pain. While I have no problem not eating sugar if it isn’t around me cutting it or simply isn’t possible.

I can understand your pain. Sugar is just something I can’t live without.

While I understand the attitude behind the lifestyle change I don’t get throwing away all the food you brought.
