Last Saturday I had no idea what I wanted to cook for dinner. I just knew I didn’t want anything with pasta or rice in it. Trying to limit how often I have them at the moment. So I started looking around my kitchen to see what I had to make a decent meal. I found some yellow squash, canned diced tomatoes, Italian sausage, green bell peppers, turnips, & beef broth. Then I started thinking of what I could make. I decided on a goulash. I call it a Italian sausage goulash.
First I cut and browned the Italian sausage. After that I added my diced tomatoes and beef broth. Next I cut up my squash, bell peppers, and turnips. I put everything in one pan and let it cook for about 20 – 30 minutes. When it was done I got this: My kids tried and I liked it. But they thought that it would taste better with pasta. So I allowed Tyler to make the pasta and let them add it to their meal. I gave it a try a spoonful and while it tasted good I found that I preferred it without the pasta. I’m so glad that it turned out great. This was my first time ever making goulash. I think that I will be making this again.
