NaBloPoMo: Where do you see your blog in one year? Five years?
When I started La La Land Mommy two years ago in all honesty it was just to give me something to do and do what I love which is writing. I mean I always planned on trying to eventually make money from my blog but I didn’t really become serious about learning what I need to do to do that until a year ago. I had no idea, for example, that getting rid of content that hasn’t performed well for you is a good thing to do in terms of your SEO (this article https://victoriousseo.com/blog/content-pruning/ goes much more into this, if you would like to learn more), as being able to demonstrate that you have constant good engagement is a useful thing when it comes to algorithms. When I first started blogging I thought all I had to do was simply start a blog and start writing. I never thought about everything that bloggers did to get the work that they did I until I decided to become serious about it. Now that I know I don’t regret my decision to blog one bit.
In one year I would love to see my blog grow. I would like for it to have a bigger following. It would be great if people saw my blog as a great source of information for things like books, parenting, product reviews, and events. I also would like to get enough numbers to do other reviews like car reviews. I definitely would like for my blog to be a great source of income for my family and I.
I know in order to reach my goals I need to put in the work. I have dedicated myself to learning all I need to know so that I can get to where I want to be. I don’t know where I plan on being in the next 5 years I try to deal with my future year by year. I know as I accomplish the goals I have set for myself this year my dreams will become bigger.

I think you can do it and will get your blog to where you want it to be. Is hard work but now that you know what it takes it will get there.

Hi, I am visiting for the first time from the Blog Love fb group. I really like your style of writing and your blog overall. I think if more people came across it, they would like it and stay a while as well! I am also trying to grow my blog following. It is proving to be extremely difficult since I’m working full time and then tending to a seven month old when I’m at home. My blog is about a year old, and I feel like it has such a long way to go. I haven’t been very successful with trying my hand at product reviews either. How did you get started?

I do a mixture of product reviews on my own, join websites like bzzagent and influenster, and I watch out for opportunities shared by other bloggers.

If you put in the time and work, whatever you want is possible. I am with you on not realizing how much of “job” blogging would become. It is a wonderful community and, well, doing something you love never really feels like work. I wish you all the best on your blogging adventure. You will get there.

I find I learn faster when I meet people who have no problem sharing what they have learned on their journey. I’ve been blessed to become apart of such wonderful groups.

I’ve been blogging for about four years, but I’ve only worked at growing it in the last year. Growing your readership is HARD, but it’s totally worth it. I’ve met so many great people! Best of luck with your blogging goals! 🙂

I have been blogging and trying to grow for about 6 months now and it can take the place of a full time job. There are tons of ways to grow and finding out what works for you is the key. Good luck on growing!!!
