This weekend I was finally able to get a bike ride. The weather was FINALLY warm enough . I haven’t had a chance to ride since New Year’s Day. Ever since then it has been so cold. Unfortunately I don’t have any winter gear to ride the whole winter yet. But hopefully next year will be different. The minute we saw that the weather was going to be above 50 degrees The Husband and I were ready to hit the streets.
We did a short ride. It was a total of 12.25 miles. We kept it short since it was our first ride in a while. We rode into Stone Mountain and rode the different streets. It wound up being so fun and super relaxing. Then we headed out of the park and was on our way home when we decided to stop at the local bike shop to get my brakes checked. The Husband noticed they needed some work. While we were waiting in line to get my bike looked at The Husband noticed some people gathered in one of the parking lots and went to check it out. Turns out that there was a Marci Gras parade being held in the area. They had some local bands playing and some food trucks while people were waiting for the parade to start. So we decided to stick around and watch the parade. The parade was so much fun. My favorite part was seeing the local high school marching bands come through. They all are great. I honestly would love to experience the real Mardi Gras in New Orleans but this will parade will do. I was able to get some beads. It was really fun.
After the Mardi Gras Parade we met up with my Sister-in-law and some other family members for her birthday dinner. We went to a hibachi place that she loves. I always enjoy getting together with family. I also enjoy hibachi. I love seeing the food cooked in front of me and it is always an experience whenever we go to one. The food was so good. While the chef was really good he really didn’t do as much as I am used to a chef at a hibachi doing. I still enjoyed the experience but I wish I was a little more entertained. My sister-in-law said the same thing. Overall though I was just glad to spend time with my family. My sister-in-law was happy and that’s what matters.
This weekend was so much fun. I love weekends like this. It was a little unplanned and a little bit planned and everything basically came together to be one awesome weekend. Everything just fell in place. I enjoy weekends where you just go with the flow and just enjoy it. Something planned can cause you to have an unplanned experience such as I had. I love things like that. It was a great weekend.
