I have been trying for the longest to get serious about losing weight. I have been off and on for years. I find that when I’m on it and when I’m not I’m not. I would prefer to stay on but I am a work in progress. Well last month I was on. My friend got a group of us together and encouraged us to take part in a 30 day fitness challenge. There was no prize or anything but just a group of us encouraging each other to be active. We would check in every day and suggest things like food, workouts, and other challenges.<!–more–>.
I did pretty good. I was active every day. I have seen myself make some changes that I didn’t think I would be able to make. I even tried a spin class. I wrote about my experience here on the blog. Click here to check it out. I must say that I really shocked myself. I was really dedicated and in the end I lost 3 pounds. I changed my diet to include more vegetables. I felt more encouraged to stay on it since I was in a group of women who are on the same journey. I just felt so encouraged. I find that I really like having a positive environment and people to encourage me. I found that it was really motivating.
I’m so glad that I did this challenge cause I learned so much about myself. I learned that I can stay motivated. I respond to positive encouragement. That I can make the necessary changes to get healthy. It has been 4 days since our challenge has ended and so far I’m still going strong. I can’t wait to see where I am in the next 30 days.
What motivates you to stay on the path to healthy?

Yay!!!! Down 3lbs and being active all month. I hope your group keeps it up.
I find it hard to stay committed, but I have to now. I hadn’t been feeling well off and on a lot this year. And my latest test results showed that I’m getting close to being pre-diabetic. So, I’m determined to be consistent with my exercise and lose my belly fat.

It was definitely a rough road. I had my bad days but I definitely worked through it. Having support is great.
