Meet Jojo The Kitten

For the last few weeks, Tyler and Nishe’ have had their mindset that they want a pet. They have been animal lovers since the day they were born. We have had pets in the past but they didn’t work out. For many different reasons. Some have been biters and others have torn up furniture. The last animal we had was a dog and he was a biter. I think this was because he wasn’t getting the attention that he needed. Then it became that The Husband and I were caring for him more than the kiddos were. So the decision to get another pet was a big one and required a lot of thought.

Well, last week The Husband and I decided we would go ahead and give it a try. We spent all last week looking up kittens. We checked out sites like LeoList before heading to a shelter. We just wanted to make sure we had options, which is why we didn’t just head straight to the shelter. Looking for pets takes time, but it’s so worth it, especially to see the kids happy when there’s a new edition to the family! The kids had an idea that we were going to get them one but they weren’t sure. Every place we called they were asking for $100 for a cat or they wanted you to take two. So I thought that we had all but given up. Then Saturday morning The Husband loaded us up in the car and we were off. We wound up going to the Atlanta Humane Society. We were looking around at the dogs and cats. I must say there were some definite cuties. The Husband and I had already discussed that adopting a kitten would be the way to go. So we went into the chat room. The Husband immediately spotted Jojo. We had decided we didn’t want a kitten more than a year old. Jojo is 6 months. She was so cute! There were a few things wrong with her health and she had a bit of anxiety, but we were recommended to use products like cbd treats for cats to help reduce the symptoms. Once we knew this, it was final that Jojo was going to be coming home with us.

When you go to the Atlanta Humane Society to choose a pet they make sure that you and the animal bond. So we were directed to a room where there were a lot of cat toys (like the ones that can be found on CatBeep.com) and trees to see how well Jojo would bond with us. It took a minute but he began to play and we decided that he was definitely the pet for us. So we went through the process of adopting him. On the way home, we stopped and bought some cat scratching poles trees for ourselves, so we could continue trying to bond when we got home; he seems to fit in so far.

I highly recommend going to the Atlanta Humane Society to adopt. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and are injected with a microchip. They also give you a bag of food for your pet. We paid $50 for Jojo. The lady who handled his adoption told us that if we had been 3 days earlier he would’ve been $100. Our kids seem to love him. They are doing great with him so far. Let’s pray that they keep it up. At the time we went they had a two for one deal.

    We adopted a cat and a dog from our local humane society. Plus we have one we found on the side of the road. JoJo is a cutie!

      We actually got him for a great deal. Kittens are more pricey. Oh and private sellers are always selling for crazy prices.

      Awwww man. I am allergic too but it is more like if I pet Jojo and then rub my eyes. Other than that I am fine.

      Thank you. Ha ha ha!! That sounds so cute. Reminds me of Garfield and Heathcliff.
