Actually it wasn’t a mom and son outing, it was a Mom, son, and uncle outing cause my big brother attended this event with us. We were extended an invitation to visit the College Football Hall of Fame with some other bloggers. I have been wanting to go visit this place for a long time. From seeing pictures online it looked like a great place. So I was super excited when I received the invitation. I thought that it was going to be your typical museum but boy was I wrong.
The College Football Hall of Fame officially opened in Atlanta in August of 2014. The Hall of Fame was originally in Indiana but now is here in Atlanta. It is a total of 94,256 sq. ft. of sports memorabilia and history. It can be found in the downtown area near other great Atlanta attractions like Centennial Park. Like I said above this is not the Hall of Fame that you think it is. You don’t have to worry about it being a place where your kids can’t touch anything. It is a very interactive place and kids and adults alike can enjoy it.
The Skill Zone is the first example I have of how the College Football Hall of Fame encourages kids to be interactive and have fun. In this area kids and adults can throw, kick, and catch footballs. Tyler absolutely loved this area. I think that he would have stayed in this area all day hanging with his uncle if I had let him but we had to move on experience the rest of the museum. But not before Tyler caught this amazing catch. https://instagram.com/p/0fkb5isKyP/?taken-by=mrs_kglalalandmommy After the Skill Zone we headed to the lower part of the Hall of Fame. Down here we met Fumbles the College Football Hall of Fame Mascot. He was so cool. My favorite part of the Hall of Fame was the wall of helmets. It is so pretty. I had to take a picture in front of it and of course I enjoyed others parts of the establishment as well.
After enjoying the lower floor we moved on to the second floor where we saw things like the Heisman Trophy. On this floor you can personalize your badge that you are given when you pay admission with your favorite team. Once you do this then you can be a sportscaster and predict that your favorite team is going to win the big game or on another computer decorate your face with stickers. A majority of the displays have games with them so while parents are reading their kids can play a game. There is also a movie that you can view as well. Isn’t that cool?
While my brother and Tyler continued their tour the other bloggers and I went into a meeting to give ideas on how to improve the experience. I think we gave some great ideas and hope to see a few in action soon. It would be truly exciting to see that we were heard. Overall we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back. I think the whole family will love this place. Have you been to the College Football Hall of Fame? If not do you plan to go? If you have been what was your favorite part about it?
If you haven’t been then here is your chance to experience it. Enter below for a chance to win two tickets.:

This looks really cool! It is one of the few Atlanta attractions that my family and I haven’t been to but it is on the list now. I love the idea of the ‘skill’ portion, that’s genius.
