La La Land Mommy: Mali Music Meet & Greet

A few weeks ago I had an opportunity to do something I rarely do and I went out by myself. I headed over to Frank Ski’s restaurant for a meet and greet with artist Mali Music. I gotta tell you I was so nervous because this was something out of the norm for me. To inform myself and distract myself I looked into the best mic stands to gain a better understanding of the writing style for those types of articles. I usually go to events geared towards mommy bloggers like myself. When I went inside and saw absolutely no one that I knew I became even more nervous. This became another first for me. For the first time in a long time I was in unfamiliar territory. Did I mention that this was my first time at Frank Ski’s restaurant as well? Yep. I mean this post is filled with firsts isn’t it.

La La Land Mommy: Me After Arriving At The Mali Music Meet & Greet

I’m going to be honest. Before I signed up for this event I had never in my life heard of Mali Music. I don’t listen to the radio often. When I do it is usually in the morning. So I learn about new music from The Husband and my kids. I know, I know I am so out of the loop. They were playing his album when I came in and through out the event and I quickly became a fan. Especially since from what I heard I don’t have to worry about Nishe’ and Tyler listening to his music.

Mali Music sat down and allowed the other bloggers and I to ask some questions. Unfortunately I stupidly deleted my video. Ugh!. Note to self remove videos and pics from phone immediately. He is a very nice gentlemen. He wants his music to be listened to by everyone and hopes everyone can enjoy it. He said that he gets his inspiration from his life and things around him. He also said that he doesn’t want to focus on making love but every aspect of a relationship and make it positive. From what I heard of his album Mali Is. He has done just that.

I really had a great time. I was asked why I went because this really isn’t my thing. I responded that I wanted to push myself out of my own comfort zone. Since I am a lover of music I thought that it would be awesome to check out. I really enjoyed myself. I think if an opportunity like this was to present it self again that I would definitely go again. I got a chance to meet some new people. It was nice to be out and mingle once I got comfortable. What is something new that you have tried lately?
