I received these products free from Medifast for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Three weeks ago I announced that I am now a Medifast blogger. So I feel like you all deserve an update. Since then I have been dedicating myself to trying the products that I received. Now I am going to be honest I was not consistent. There have been days that I have give into temptation and had other foods that I desired but I can say a majority of the time I did pretty good. Because of this I have seen some results. I shared some of the food that I ate on Instagram so you can also see what I ate there. Now lets talk about some of the food that I have eaten. Medifast sends you enough food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, shakes, and snacks in between. I am going to discuss breakfast first.
For breakfast I was given oatmeal, cereal, and pancakes. I like all three of these items. My favorite is the oatmeal though. It tastes really good. I added a little butter to it to give it a little flavor but not too much. One pack kept me full all day. I have been eating this a majority of the time. My next favorite was the pancakes. You didn’t even really need syrup but I added a few drops because I like syrup on my pancakes. They didn’t take long to make at all. The cereal was my least favorite. Mainly because I had to get use to the flavor. I am usually used to cereal with a lot more sugar. It only took me eating it two days in a row to decide I liked it. It tastes pretty good to me now. I just add a little extra milk to it. But all three meals were filling and enjoyable.
For lunch and dinner I would switch between the microwaveable meals that were provided to me and the pouch meals that I received. I want to talk about the microwaveable meals first. I was given some great choices chicken cacciatore, beef stew, chicken with rice & vegetables, beef stew, and turkey marinara with vegetables. My least favorite was the turkey marinara. I didn’t like the taste of the meatballs too much and I could hardly taste the vegetables. I really wanted a good mix of vegetables in there. But it did fill me up. My favorite was a tie between the beef stew and the chicken with rice and vegetables. They both tasted so good. They were a good portion size and had a great mix of vegetables. The chicken with rice and vegetables also had a good mix of rice. It gave me everything I was looking for in a meal. The chicken cacciatore was good too. What I really liked about these meals was they didn’t really taste like regular microwaveable meals to where you could tell they were microwaveable meals. These meals tasted like they came straight off the stove.
It’s time to talk about the pouch meals. The pouch meals are chicken flavored noodle soup, ziti marinara, and sour cream and chive mashed potatoes. I don’t really have any complaints about these except some days I wished there were more. My favorite was the chicken noodle soup. It tastes like homemade chicken noodle soup. I cooked these on the stove. I had to cook them a little longer but it was worth it. I could taste the chicken flavor in every bite. My next favorite was the ziti marinara. It tasted like one of those pan meals. But it was healthy for you. I did add a little cheese but that’s mainly because that’s the way I like my pasta. The potatoes tasted just like regular potatoes. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two.
The Medifast shakes are suppose to help you to keep hunger at bay in between meals. You have a choice between French vanilla, Dutch chocolate, and strawberry. My favorite hands down is chocolate. I am a chocolate lover so it is really no surprise. Then the strawberry. It really tasted like strawberry. It was closer to like strawberry ice cream taste than regular strawberries. But it was good. I thought the French vanilla was a little strong. I find that these shakes taste even better when you combine them together. I found that I could be hungry but immediately feel like I ate a meal after drinking a shake.
Finally we have the desserts. All of these are my favorites. Each of them has a bit of chocolate in it. You have the chocolate pudding, the chocolate brownie soft bake, and a chocolate chip soft bake. Trust me with these desserts you won’t feel like you are missing out on anything. They are just that good. I have no complaints.
After being on this program for the past few weeks I am proud to say I see some results. My pants are loser than they were before. This is due to eating healthier and exercising. I am so happy with what I see. I can’t wait to see the results in the next few weeks.
