This Is Us
Last year one of my favorite television shows Parenthood went off the air. Every Tuesday night I was parked in front of the television watching it. Those Tuesdays when I couldn’t catch it for whatever reason I then watched it on the NBC app. They eventually switched days I think it moved to Thursdays. I was not happy to see it end because I love family shows. I was hoping that NBC would release another show that would compare to it. Months later I found out that they did. They came out with a show called This Is Us.A few months ago I started seeing previews for this show called This Is Us. I didn’t actually know what it was about but I knew it looked interesting. I knew it was about five people who are all dealing with different things in their life. Rebecca and Jack are anxious for the birth of their triplets, Kevin is wanting more from his acting career and his tired of being a bachelor, Kate is dealing with her weight, and Randall is trying to figure out how to handle his birth father who is just reconnected with. Jack, Kevin, Kate, and Randall all have one thing in common. They share the same birthday.
As all first episodes go This Is Us introduces us to the characters. Now it is important to pay attention cause you are going to realize something at the end. I didn’t realize until today when I watched the show a second time. We see how everyone celebrates their birthdays. Randall meets his birth dad, Kevin has a melt down (This is actually quite hilarious), and Kate decides to make a change. I am not going to tell exactly how they do it but I will say it was very interesting. If you have seen the previews you have an idea. I will say you should definitely check it out. I don’t want to ruin it for everyone.
This Is Us has drawn me in so far. I can’t wait to see what happens the next episode. It has a touch of humor and just the right amount of seriousness. This is what I can tell from the first episode. I love the dynamic. It is so hard to talk about television show when you don’t want to give away too much. Anyway I think that this is a great show. It may have something to do with the fact that I am a big Sterling K. Brown fan. I like Mandy Moore as well.
