My Review of The New CBS Show Mom

I literally just finished watching the new CBS show Mom. I’m late because the series premiere was Monday but I didn’t get a chance to watch it until today. It is by Chuck Lorre who also is the creator of the show Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory. I am a total fan of Big Bang Theory. I feel so-so about Two and a Half Men since the changes. Still a funny show though. Mom stars Anna Faris who plays Christy and Allison Janney who plays her mom Bonnie. Christy is a woman who is trying to put her life back together after recently becoming sober. She’s trying to become a better mom to her two children. Since she is only recently becoming sober she is learning things about her children that she didn’t know. Like for instance her daughter and her mom have been in contact with each other. Her mom Bonnie has also recently become sober although it has been longer than Christy and now she is trying to work on her relationship with Christy. Who really isn’t open to it but is trying to make an effort for her daughter whose trust she’s trying to regain. I’m sure they are going to hit a lot of bumps along the way but I can’t wait to see where it goes.

After seeing the first episode I must say that I am intrigued. I was definitely cracking up at moments. I think the dynamic between mom and daughter is hilarious. I almost think that Anna and Allison could be related in real life. I guess that’s just their chemistry. Throwing in the dad of Christy’s children who clearly does not have his priorties straight and her daughter Violet’s (played by Sadie Calvano) boyfriend who she hates I think that this is the makings of a good show. I think I will definitely be checking out this show. I hope that it continues to be funny. It is off to a great start because I have seen too many shows to where they start out funny but end up lame. Chuck Lorre has a good track record with me so I am pretty sure that it won’t disappoint me but you never know. Can’t wait to see what else is to come. I purposely didn’t mention what the episode was about because I don’t want to end up on anyone’s hit list. Ha ha ha!!! So what did you think of the series premiere? Please share.
