Yesterday I talked about what we did the first day of our Myrtle Beach vacation. You can read all about it here. Today we are going to talk about day two. I can’t wait to share everything we did.
We started our morning off walking the beach. It was so relaxing to just walk along the beach and not have anything to really worry about. Afterwards we came back to the hotel to have breakfast. The buffet had some great options. We all had our things that we loved. The Husband, Nishe’, and Tyler had French toast with eggs. Tyler and Nishe’ also had bacon. I had grits, eggs, bacon, and sausage. The food tasted so good. I really enjoyed. Tyler also loved the fact that you could make your own waffles. He made himself one just before we left. We left with full bellies. It was nice to just go downstairs and be able to eat. I love this about the Beach Cove Resort. Then we drove to a store down the street to get an umbrella and some magnets for my mother-in-law. She loved them when we gave them to her when we got back. She loves magnets.
After doing a little shopping we headed to our first attraction of the day Alligator Adventures. Alligator Adventures is located right down the street from the resort. We could have walked there if we wanted to. This is the place that Tyler chose. Again not surprised because I have two teenage animal lovers. They were super excited to be there. We saw alligators immediately after we entered. Tyler was on cloud nine. We stood there for awhile just looking at the alligators. They really got a kick out of seeing Utan the largest crocodile in the place as well as the two albino alligators that they had. We saw lemurs, kangaroos, birds, snakes, turtles, and hyenas. We even got to see their newest baby lemurs one of the employees Garrett was kind enough to take pictures of them for me. The kids were looking forward to seeing the lemurs and alligators fed. We saw the lemurs get fed first. Garrett is an awesome employee. He stood for about five minutes while my kids shot multiple questions his way. There was approximately an hour between each show but the time flies by as you navigate through the area.
Here is a video of Garrett actually feeding the lemurs:
After watching the lemurs getting fed when then walked around until time for us to go to the animal show where an employee Kelsey would tell us about some of the animals and the kids got to pet them. She showed us two snakes, a turtle, and a small alligator. She also did the alligator feeding.
Once we finished learning about the animals we went into the snake house and then the lizard house it was amazing to learning about the snakes. My kids were in heaven then. I didn’t take any pictures of the lizards but I got plenty of the snakes.
Then we made our way to see the feeding of the alligators. This was my kids favorite part. They really enjoyed seeing them jump out of the water. Afterwards we saw the flamingoes and the hyenas. I would say that this stop on our vacation was a total success.
After Alligator Adventures we surprised the kids by going to the water park Myrtle Waves. It was a warm day so decided that ending our outing with some water fun was perfect. We had so much fun riding the rides. My daughter and I decided that one slide the Turbo Twister was just too dark to ride again. I mean you literally were in the dark until the end. Then one slide the Arooba Tooba we all were scared of until we went on the ride and realized it wasn’t as scary as we though. We slid down Snake Mountain. We enjoyed the lazy river and the Racing River pool. It was so much fun and a great way to cool off.
When we finished having fun at Myrtle Waves we headed back to the resort to eat dinner at the restaurant inside the resort. I got some wings and fries, The Husband and Nishe’ had a chicken panini with fries, and Tyler had a burger with fries. My chicken wings and fries were so delicious. My family enjoyed their meals as well. Then after we ate the kids wanted to go to the pool that was provided at the resort as well. Later they got inside the Jacuzzi. They said they enjoyed their first Jacuzzi experience. I think I may be in trouble. Beach Cove Resort is amazing. I can’t say we had any complaints. All in all our trip was amazing. I most appreciated everything we did as a family. My teenagers enjoyed it to the fullest and everyone got to do something that they were interested in but everyone wound up loving. Basically a well thought out trip can be a blast. I find including everyone in the decisions works out best. We will hopefully be making many more return trips to Myrtle Beach.
