To All Soon To Be High School Graduates,
You will be exiting the protective halls of high school and your parents arms soon. I want you to know that, that first step will be a scary one but trust me when I say it will be one that you will be proud of yourself for taking. That step into the real world will not be a scary one just for you but your parents as well. We are preparing to release the children we have been raising since you were itty bitty babies into this big scary world.
I know you are beginning to feel the pressure of making major decisions. For example what college you are going to go to. But always remember that we are here for you. We are still here to be a listening ear and help guide you as much as we can. We don’t want you out of the house per se. We just want you to spread your wings. But you are always welcome to come back. So just know the nagging we are doing to make these decisions are not because we want you to leave but because there is a time limit on most of your decisions. The time you have to basically go to the colleges you want to go to is very limited. We want you to go where you would like to go. We want you to achieve your dreams. We want you to know that we are always here if you need us. Ready to be a listening ear and a hug.
We know you may get angry at us sometimes for constantly reminding you of all this stuff you need to do before entering the next stage in your life. Just remember we are trying to set you up for success. We don’t want to see you fall on your face but if you do we will be there to pick you up. So when we nag you about those college applications, taking the SATs, and those grades just know that is our way of rooting for you. We are always behind you.
Life is about to get real and we want you to be ready for it.
Love,
Your Parents
