This past weekend was a much needed three day weekend. Thanks to the Labor Day weekend. The Husband and I took full advantage of every day of that three day weekend. We did one of our favorite things that we love to do and that was bike ride. I can’t wait to fill you in on all these great details.
We started the weekend off with doing a group ride with this E-bike company called Pedego. They do a monthly group ride with Pedego owners. This time they welcomed people who wanted to rent bikes. So The Husband and I decided to join in on the fun and see what the experience with riding with the group was like. It was a ten mile ride with a small group of about 15 people including the Pedego employee Eric who was leading the ride, The Husband, and I. We rode around downtown Atlanta stopping along the way for photo opps. I must say it was so fun. I even stepped out of my comfort zone and introduced myself to a few people and exchanged numbers so that we could meet up and ride together outside the monthly meet up. I also learned that if you are a owner you get pins for meeting certain mileage goals. Those goals are 100, 1000, 2500, and 5000 miles. It was a really great ride. We even stopped to get something to eat/drink and socialize on the belt line near Ponce City Market with the other riders. It was a really fun day.
On Sunday we rode around the Grant Park area. We were actually suppose to go on another group bike ride. Unfortunately do to my poor communication skills in not telling the group I was interested I missed out on the information of knowing it was canceled. But we still got another ride in and it was pretty fun.
On Monday we headed to Arabia Mountain State Park to see how fast we could make our 20 mile ride to the lake on Pedego bikes. We did the same ride the weekend before with a group on regular bikes and it took us a minute. Arabia Mountain has so many hills so on a regular bike if you don’t really shift gears it can be a lot of work making it up those hills. We were riding with a no drop group which means they won’t leave anyone behind. One of the cyclist took some time out to show me how to shift my gears and it made things much easier. Honestly it took about the same amount of time cause we stopped along the way a few times. But the pedal assist on the Pedego really made it much quicker and made it so we weren’t too tired to take in the view and explore a little. We even explored some other routes that we didn’t before or ever in the many times we have been to this park. It was a really great day.
