I can’t wait to share my latest book review with you. I love sharing great books with you all. I believe books are so relaxing and therapeutic. A great book can calm you down. This is my go to way of calming down after a long day. Now lets get to the book. The name of this book is called Saving Abby by Steena Holmes.
This book is about a children’s book illustrator named Claire Turner and her husband children’s author Josh who has been trying to have a child for six years. Just when they finally decide to accept having a child of their own may not be possible Claire becomes pregnant. They are over the moon about their great news when some more life changing news turns their world upside down. The news could possibly cause Claire her life. The couple decide that their main focus would be their unborn child. Although there will be some struggles their ultimate goal is to have a healthy child.
I am not going to lie to you. This book is a tear jerker. I cried when I got to the end. It was really amazing to read this couples story. The way it is written you almost feel as if you are going through everything with them. I love that they have a support system and how people are willing to step up to help them. Claire is also dealing with a decision that she made in her past. So it makes everything going on with her in the present a little more difficult. She is also working on her relationship with her mom because the decision kind of put a wedge between them. I love the relationship between Josh and Claire they are supportive to each other but they almost lose their connection during this time. They eventually come back to each other. They are great example of how to work through things. I mean they are connected in every aspect of their lives since they work together. I hated the news that they got just as they were enjoying the greatest time in their life.
I think that Saving Abby was an amazing read. You get to see someone’s journey through the best and worse time of their life. Trust me when I say you are going to want to have a box of tissues next to you when you read this book. I think that the author did an awesome job writing this book.

Saving Abby sounds straight up my alley. Anytime a movie or a film involves tissues, I’m in.

Having had my own difficulties trying to conceive in the past, this sounds like a read that will really hit home. I love when an author can draw you in and get you emotional too.

I have a friend who tried for 10 years to get pregnant and they said she literally was out of options. They gave up and out of the blue, she got pregnant.

I love stories like that. I’ve heard usually when you aren’t trying that is when things happen.
