It’s Monday! I hope everyone is ready to have a great week. It’s time for another Self Love Monday post. If you ever see me you will notice that most of the time I wear my hair in twists. This is my go-to hairstyle for many reasons. It is easy to do, it keeps me from constantly having to do my hair, and it lasts a long time. I really hate having to do my hair every day. Honestly, that is the main reason why I went natural. Yes, my hair was damaged, but I really despised styling my hair. I often wore it in a ponytail or curled it, which is what damaged my hair. So now I have found a new hairstyle that I just love to wear over and over. Now to my credit, I do style my twists in different ways but at the same time, they are twists. So last week I decided it was time for a change.Last week I decided that I would challenge myself to wear different hairstyles, which led me to think about whether I should consider visiting hair salons. The reason I thought of this is that one of my friends, who is from Prescott, AZ had the same dilemma with her hairstyle. While talking over call, she used to tell me that she wants to experiment with her hair but is a bit skeptical about the entire process and the outcome. But after a few weeks, she sent me a photo of her hair makeover. I thought, she might have visited Hair Salons in Prescott AZ–it was so well-done.
Now I can see myself in her place. I constantly wear the same hairstyles even in my twists because I would convince myself that they just don’t look right on me. Even if I tried something else, I straight away decided that they don’t look right and then returned to my norm. All this time, I knew I was thinking about what other people would think. But I thought it was just time to mix it up. But I did not want to go to a salon, so I tried a few hairstyles at home. I have a friend with synthetic hair who does so many different hairstyles. At first, I was amazed at how even does she manage her hair. I mean, you need to stick to a routine to Pflege für Deinen Haarersatz aus Kunsthaar (in order words, Care for your synthetic hair replacement) with some reliable shampoos. I haven’t thought about getting synthetic hair, but it is nice to have options! These are the styles that I have always wanted to try, but I kept them simple.
The first style I tried was two balls and hair out: I tried this style cause it was basically the first one I thought of. It was pretty quick and easy. The last few times I tried this style I took it out but I eventually just went with it.
The second style I tried was a pin up style. I put two braids in the back of this style and pinned the rest up. I wound up loving this style because I spent less than 30 minutes in the bathroom.
The third style I tried was two balls and a bang. I am not a fan of my forehead. I didn’t mind it with my hair out in the back but it didn’t work for me once I put all my hair up. So I gave myself a bang. I later undid these twists but I thought it was cute either way.
The last style is this super cute style. I wear my hair out sometimes but I usually just take it down and wear it as is. Not often do I do more than that. This time I added to braids. Each one went from the side to the back. Then I wore the rest of my hair out. This is my favorite style so far.
I am having so much fun experimenting with my hair. I think I am going to keep going. I will still wear my twists occasionally but I think I will try some different more often. It really wasn’t so bad to take a break from my normal. Now I have to find some more/ I may give them a try.

I absolutely love the different natural styles! My personal go-to style is anything with two puffballs.

I love twists! I wear them in the fall/winter as a low maintenance hairstyle. I love switching my natural hair styles as well. So great you’re being comfortable in switching things up!

I am definitely trying. My twists allow me to be super lazy.
