Monday is here. A new week. Time for new possibilities. Time to work to meet new goals. It is also time for another Self Love Monday post. Are you good at keeping promises to yourself? Do you say I am going to do this or that and then when time comes to do it you chicken out or find an excuse not to do it? It is so easy to break a promise to yourself isn’t it? I am guilty of doing all the above. I will always say I am going to do something for myself and then when time comes to do it I will find a reason not to do whatever it is. Especially if it required me planning it. I guess my fear of things not going as planned makes me weary of planning things. Well this weekend I forced myself to fulfill a promise to myself. There was a restaurant that I had been seeing a Groupon deal for that I have been saying I wanted to try. So this weekend I decided I was going to do it. I purchased the deal after much debate and The Husband, Tyler, and I headed down.
The restaurant is located in downtown Atlanta. However for reasons that I will soon explain I will not be sharing the name. I hate writing bad reviews so since this isn’t a paid post or anything I will not be giving out the name. So we headed to the restaurant. It was a deal where we got $30 worth of food. First thing I didn’t know that you had to order four entrees. But I looked at the Groupon and read the fine print. It says that so that was my fault because I didn’t read it. We ordered our food and then we asked for drinks. We were told that they didn’t have anything to drink but water and unsweetened tea. I asked if there was a charge for water and the lady who I am guessing was the owner said no. But when The Husband went to pay the other employee tried to charge us $0.58 for water. The Husband told her what the owner said and she didn’t charge us. I will say that the people were very nice. The food was delicious! It was soul food. I am picky with my soul food. The food is definitely worth stopping by for. You just have to hope that they have more than water and unsweetened tea.
So I basically faced one of my fears of things not going as planned. While it wasn’t the perfect outing it still was fun to try a new place to eat. After we ate we walked off some of the calories by walking around downtown. It was really fun. I was just glad that I initiated the day. I usually just let The Husband take the reins and plan what we are going to do.
