This weekend The Husband and I went to visit our son at his college. He invited us to breakfast. I’m starting to learn that sometimes when he does this he needs some comfort from us. He had gotten some news he wasn’t thrilled about and talking to us in person helps. Plus we just got to hang out. I enjoy this phase of parenting. It is great to see them developing into adults but to know they still need us. I was glad we could be there for him and get to spend some time with him. He picked the place and everything. Also he wanted his Celtics hoodie because they made it to the playoffs. I have no idea how he got into the Celtics cause I’m a Hawks fan.
After we had breakfast with Tyler The Husband and I went home and hopped on our bikes to get a bike ride in. We rode to a near by park so I could practice my new hobby roller skating. Well it’s not really a new hobby because I used to enjoy roller skating as a kid however I just knew the basic roll. Which is still the extent of my roller skating skills. I got back into roller skating a few weeks ago after learning that there were free classes at a skating rink near my house. I’m starting to realize that I have to start at Square over again. I still don’t really know the basics but I’m willing to learn. I just got my first pair of brand new skates. I’ve never had a new pair. The ones I had as a kid was passed down to me from my cousin.
On Sunday The Husband and I kept it pretty low key. We got in a bike ride to the store but other than that we hung out at home. It turned out to be a really great weekend. So we had a pretty fun weekend. Another thing that made this weekend great is the fact that The Husband and I celebrated 23 years of marriage. I really can’t believe it has been that long. We are growing and learning. There have been so many bumps but there as also been a great deal of growth. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us.
