Last year The Husband and I did a bunch of bike riding. More than we ever have in previous years. Our bike riding really took a step up thanks to the pandemic. We went from casually riding bikes to doing it as a lifestyle change. Lets be honest with everything pretty much closed in 2020 there wasn’t much to do at all. So the best way to keep yourself entertained was to either walk or ride a bike. We did a combination of both but wound up really enjoying bike riding. Yesterday on the last day of 2021 I totaled up all my mileage and found out that I rode a total of 1,177.75 miles. I was shocked to know I could actually ride that far on a bike.
Seeing how far I rode in 2021 has kind of motivated. I actually see that number as a challenge. I really want to beat last year’s total miles. So knowing that I decided to get up today and get in a ride. I knew it was suppose to rain today so the first thing I did when I got up was check the whether. When I saw that it was only suppose to be cloudy today I looked over at The Husband and told him pretty much lets go. We headed over to the Kroger off Glenwood here in Atlanta and hopped on our bikes. We rode around downtown and the Grant Park area. I actually had a different route in mind but the bike app that I was using wouldn’t work so we basically had to wing it. I was not a happy camper but I did it. I am not really good at pivoting but I managed to do it. The bike ride wound up being a total of 14.33 miles. So I think we are off to a great start for the new year. I felt great after everything was finished.
I can’t wait to see how many miles I have ridden at the end of January. I am kind of excited to see what it ends up being. It is going to be fun to kind of race myself. I am not going to take it so seriously though that I no longer enjoy the ride.
