Another thing I have been doing during my break is working out. So for right now, I am being consistent in working out. I was off for a while. I have learned to just embrace when I am being consistent and not beat myself up when I’m not. It can be hard for so many to get into the mindset and a positive workout regime, that is why research is your friend and you never know, you could get abs overnight at home with these workouts along with a healthy eating plan, so there is always hope. I have started doing two new things since I was last on my fitness journey.
The first thing I have added is a treadmill. I have been wanting a treadmill for awhile. But I really wanted after I got stung in my face a few years ago. I haven’t been comfortable with walking outside since then. I tried it a few times but it really started to freak me out so yeah I went back inside. Plus for awhile I had to work during the day so that really made it difficult for me to do the walks that I desired. So when we were able to The Husband and I purchased me a treadmill. Now I workout between 5am and 7am every day. One thing that I love about my treadmill is that it comes with a program called iFit. I get it free for a year with the purchase of my treadmill. You can choose a training series challenge and it has different levels of intensity. Right now I’m working through the lower intensity workouts and working my way up. My next goal is to be running soon. Perhaps after that, I could try strength training as well. I’m super excited to do this. I have already looked online for different accessories I might need, such as ankle braces and the best elbow compression sleeve, when I advance the level of my workouts. So far, I have completed 5 challenges and I have done 52 workouts. Being able to see my progress on the app and seeing it on my Apple Watch is motivating me to keep going. Right now, I’m only doing a treadmill workout with occasional YouTube workouts. I’m hoping to be consistent with doing two workouts a day soon. I like to add something to my workouts because I get bored really easily. So far I have completed 5 challenges and I have done 52 workouts. I’m hoping to be consistent with doing two workouts a day soon. Maybe I can start cycling, that way I could also get some fresh air while I burn my calories. I hear a lot of people are opting for cycling training coach apps like Spoked to get personalized guidance on their sessions. I wonder Why static cycling training plans won’t work for everyone, probably because it lacks flexibility in terms of training plans. Anyway, cycling is something I would consider, let’s see!
Another thing I’m trying on my way to getting healthy is I’m calorie counting. I am fixing my meals and trying to stay under a certain amount of calories. This also keeps me working out because I can add calories the more I workout. Seeing how much I’m eating and how what I am eating affects my goal keeps me focused. I also don’t freak out the times I go over. That’s usually only when we eat out. Which mainly do on the weekends and ever so often during the week. It has been really helpful to help me control my appetite. It has also helped me to make more conscious decisions at home and when I eat out. There have been a few times we’ve eaten out and I didn’t go over my calories.
These changes have really made me feel really great about my body. I have way more energy and it is just exciting to see how my body is adjusting to everything. I am working my way up to 100 workouts. I don’t know what I am going to do when I hit that number but I know I will be extremely happy about it. I hope to be sharing my results soon.
