This weekend our trail walking adventure took us to Cobb county, Georgia. Here we went to a park that The Husband had come across while making a delivery one day. It’s called Silver Comet Trail Linear Park. Did I tell you that a majority of the trails that we have walked he has researched? He has found some real gems. In fact he started all this. The hikes, the waterfalls, and now the trails. The kids love every minute of it. The trail is called Silver Comet Trail.
The Husband had wanted to go to a different area so when he rode by this park he thought it was perfect. I am always surprised by how little I know about the area surrounding me and I have lived in Georgia all my life. I love one unique thing about this park. You will never guess what it is. It has an exercise area! It is so weird that I am excited about this because I usually cringe at the thought of exercising but not so much lately. Anyway. I thought that this was a nice change up from working inside my home or at a gym.
I wasn’t the only one excited about this my teenagers were extremely excited about it as well. We walked over and gave the equipment a try. I got a good thirty minute workout. I think the equipment was great. The kids went from equipment to equipment as well. They have been interested in working out lately. They had one favorite machine. I have no idea what it is called but they loved it. I enjoyed it as well.
I got a really nice workout. I really felt it the next day. But I definitely want to go back to this park. I can see myself making many more trips.
After working out for a little bit we hit the trail. The Silver Comet Trail runs 61.5 miles. We walked two miles of it. The kids rode their bikes. It was a very peaceful walk. We enjoyed the scenery it was so pretty. It is really worth the walk. As always you get to spend some time with your family. I am really enjoying finding different walking trails in Georgia. Each one offers something a little different. I wish we could travel around more often. One of my friends from Calgary who loves also loves trekking talked about all his road trips and said how great if feels to travel around. I remember thinking that we should buy a used SUV to go around the country like him. Anyway, for now, we are enjoying our bikes. I mean, I love the biking trail paths in Atlanta. With this trip, I’ve learned a lot about bike etiquette. I can actually see myself joining a biking group. They actually look fun.
A trail is even more fun when you take a moment to capture a selfie. I guess this one would be called an usie.
