I think The Husband and I are enjoying life after the kids have become young adults. I think it has taken our relationship to a whole new level. When our kids were younger we rarely went anywhere without them. We just preferred to spend time with our kids. Now that doesn’t go to say that we didn’t let them go other places but if there was no real reason to we generally kept the kids with us. Even when they were old enough to stay home alone we kind of made sure to get home in a decent amount of time. Cause of course they are teenagers and although they were well behaved you never really know what they could get into. Now they are both in college we have been really enjoying bonding as a couple. It’s like starting a brand new relationship.
This weekend of course The Husband and I were out and about running errands. On Saturday went out to breakfast and we did some bowling. Breakfast was at a restaurant called Old Hickory House. We had tried another restaurant but they didn’t have make your own omelets so we left. The Old Hickory House had what we were looking for. I didn’t take any pictures cause I was to hungry. I never realized how competitive I am until I went bowling with The Husband by myself. I was trying my best to beat him I actually did beat him twice. This experience was really different because we had never been bowling just the two of us. I will admit I did miss doing it with the kids but I just found myself having so much fun. After bowling we went home and stayed in the house. I also this weekend gave me the opportunity to wear my new jean dress I got from H&M for $34.00. It was really comfortable.
Sunday The Husband surprised with me breakfast. He also got up and fed the cats while I slept in. They are pretty demanding in the morning when they are ready to eat. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out at home. I was able to fit in a little self care. I spent some time reading and gave myself a facial. I actually tackled a task that I have been putting off for weeks and that was cleaning my closet. I have to admit I had clothes all over the place. So I finally got tired of looking at the mess and cleaned it up. I felt good once it was done. I am just glad it is over with and I can now cross that task off my list.
Overall this weekend was a really good one. I got to spend time with my favorite guy. I also got to take care of myself and get some things done. How was your weekend?
