Saturday I had the pleasure of attending an event where Co-founder and author Chanda Bell spoke to some other bloggers and I about the newest Elf On The Shelf Product. The name of the newest addition to The Elf On The Shelf family is called The Elf on the Shelf A Birthday Tradition. The event was held at Piece of Cake found in Atlanta, Georgia. I was excited to learn all about it. Since my kids are older I really hadn’t heard about The Elf on the Shelf besides seeing friends on social media use it around Christmas time. The first elf is called The Elf on the Shelf A Christmas Tradition. Every year around Christmas friends on social media would post pictures of these adorable elves doing some naughty (getting into trouble), cute, and funny things. I actually enjoy seeing what their elves would get into next, as did so many other people by the looks of it. Every time my friends would post those pictures on Instagram, they would get lots of likes and more followers. If I ever wanted to start posting those pictures, I would probably need some more followers. One of my friends told me that she used Socialcaptain to increase her followers. I think I’d want to learn more about Socialcaptain before I used it though. Perhaps I’ll start taking pictures of the Elf for Christmas. Turns out the elves have been around for a few years now but I had no clue about it. Imagine that. So I was ready to listen when I arrived at the event.
As always I am always ready to mingle with fellow bloggers. We actually got to interact with Chanda before the event officially started. In speaking with her I learned that Chanda was born and raised in Georgia just like me. I love it. How cool is that. When the event began Chanda was introduced by Nadia Jones of The Niche Parent. Chanda gave us some information about The Elf On The Shelf A Birthday Tradition. The Elf On The Shelf Birthday Tradition Kit comes with tons of goodies:
-A Birthday Chair Decoration Kit that includes:
-A birthday hat
– Chair cover with pocket for your Elf
– Felt Numbers
– Instruction Sheet
– Hook & Loop Fasteners
– Alphabet Sticker Sheets
– Nylon Strings
-Paper Garland Flags
– Note Cards
-Nylon Strings
The Elf on the Shelf book and Elf are sold separately. There is also a Birthday countdown calendar which also has a game on the back called Birthday Cupcake Candle game. Also included is a support rod, ribbon tie, blindfold, 10 candle game pieces, and an instruction sheet. I think this would be a bunch of fun for your little ones and their friends.
The Elf on the Shelf Birthday Tradition Book tells your child all the fun they can have if they invite The Elf On The Shelf Scout elf to celebrate their birthday with them. It starts with how to invite him/her and then describes the things the elf will do while he/she visits. Now the book doesn’t come with an elf but it does come with a cute birthday hat and cupcake costume. I’m an adult and I am excited to see a child experience this. If you want to add even more excitement to your child’s birthday you can visit www.elfontheshelf.com/birthday and register for your child to receive a special message from Santa on their birthday. I think that kids will definitely get a kick out of hearing from Santa on their birthday.
Another thing that I find awesome about The Elf on the Shelf company is that they donate to charity. $1 from each purchase of a The Elf on the Shelf product goes to support the charity Charity Water. Their mission is to bring clean and safe drinking water to every person on the planet. They do things like build wells in countries such as Africa. To find out more about this charity visit www.charitywater.org .
I had so much fun learning all about The Elf on the Shelf. I got to meet some new blogger friends. I also enjoyed the food as well. There was also a giveaway for an American Express gift card and Tamiko of the blog Miko Knows won. I of course have pictures to share with you.

Just saw a commercial for this and wondered what it was. It looks cute, but I just can’t see getting into it as well as continuing with the Christmas elf.

We have an Elf on the Shelf.. and it is a lot of work! I sometimes wish the Elf never found us. My daughter will made BIG hints in hoping the Elf will come to visit and I have to remember and then come holiday time I have to remember to get all creative. We have a love / hate relationship 😉

After reading your other post about Elf on the Shelf (birthday) I told my daughter about it. She had not heard of it yet. I felt so in the know! 🙂

If I had a little one, I’d definitely opt for a “packaged party” deal. I am familiar with Elf on the Shelf from my days in the classroom.
