As you all know I work at an after school program. I have about 15 kids in my class. With so many kids in my class it’s hard to find things that everyone will like. I know they like games so I am always on the look out for games that I think will spark their interests and keep them engaged for even the shortest period of time. Trust me this is not easy at all.
Recently I was approached by the company Wicked Uncle to try a few items out. So I of course accepted. I headed over to the Wicked Uncle website and browsed the page. They had so many great items that would really help me not only in my classroom but gave me great gift ideas for my own kids. I wound up choosing two games and a journal for my daughter. The games were called Stinky Pig and Yogi. I was super excited to try this. It was so different than the games the kids normally played hat I was sure my class would love it.
The first game I tried out was Stinky Pig. Stinky Pig is just like hot potato except that the pig passes gas to mark that the child is caught. You are suppose to give each child who ends up getting pass gassed on a coin and whoever has the least coins was out. I have so many kids in my class that I just adjusted it to whoever got pass gassed on was out. But it went over really well and the kids got a kick out of being pass gassed on. They are 3rd graders so they were full of giggles and it kept them engaged longer than I thought it would. But It was a really great game.
Then we tried Yogi. In Yogi the players have to choose cards from a deck. If the card is green the player has to pose their body in the pose on the card. If the card is red the player must place the card whereever is stated on the card. The players are out if they are unable to hold their position, drop their card, or fail to not follow instructions. The kids and I had so much fun with this game. It was so fun to see them try to do all the poses. It was really funny.
The last thing I got from Wicked Uncle was a journal covered in sequins. If you flip the sequins you can turn the journal from pink to purple. This was perfect for my daughter because she loves to write. So I knew this would make a great gift for her. She really does love it.
These items were a big hit with my class and my daughter. The kids were entertained and had fun. I enjoyed seeing it actually work and I appreciated the laughs I got. Hopefully these games will last a long time in my class. I also enjoyed bringing a smile to my daughter’s face with the journal. It was a great gift. Wicked Uncle is a great site to shop for Christmas, birthday, and any gift ideas.

That really cool that you were able to do that. I’m guessing the toys weren’t that expensive. I know on a teachers salary you don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars. In your article there aren’t any pictures of the toys being played with. I do see the video but again you can’t see the toys.
