As usual when I do a Wordless Wednesday it is never wordless. One thing I am working on with myself is putting more effort into my appearance. Being a stay at home mom sometimes I just don’t think about my appearance. I am so wrapped up in sometimes cleaning and getting things done before The Husband and kids get home I just don’t take time into making myself look great. I keep my hair braided or twisted. Did I mention how much I hate doing my hair. So when my hair is braided or twisted I don’t have to think about it as much until it starts to look raggedy.
This morning for some odd reason it was a little different. I was sitting at my laptop getting ready to write and couldn’t come up with anything. I figured that maybe if I took a break from my computer that something would come to me. So instead of sitting around I decided to play in my hair. The hairstyle I am wearing in the picture I have been trying to figure out how to do for the longest. I’ve seen a lot of women wearing this hairstyle and I have always wanted to wear it. So I went to youtube and when I saw how easy it was to do I felt kind of dumb. But anyway here is what I look like when I put effort into my look. Ha ha ha!
I feel so pretty. Oh and I put on a little lipstick. I may start doing this every day. Well maybe not every day. I just know it made me feel really great and then it gave me something to write about. I really am trying to do break myself out of this cycle of braids and twists. I think The Husband would be very happy if I did.
When was the last time you took an extra five minutes for yourself? What did you do with that time?

I believe in the extra 5 minutes. I like to look good because it makes me feel good. Now sometimes I look crazy but always behind closed doors. Even if I’m just running to the grocery store, I make sure to take the time to look good. It’s so important. Us SAHM can’t let outselves go.

Most of the time, my hair goes up in a bun and I’m out the door. It’s just so much easier when I have a toddler clinging to my leg! But you’re so right–taking a tiny bit of time to fix my hair and pick out a decent outfit makes me feel so much better about myself!

It can be so hard for women to put themselves first, I definitely struggle with that. Your hair looks great and you feel great, I’d say that’s a WIN for the day!!!!!

On the days I work from home, I find it so easy to fall into that trap. I’ve started more and more to force myself to ‘get ready’ in the morning, and I find I’m even more productive on those days!
